Buskers – The Blog

Most people do not ever consider the elements that are required in order to make for a good street performance. Street performers require a great deal of charisma as they have to put themselves in the direct criticism of the public. However, the rewards can be very great as you might be able to travel, see the world while doing what you love i.e. entertaining people.

You will also be able to meet a great host of interesting people which can make all the difference. It is therefore important to get your band together so that you can choose your venues. If you are able to make people stop and put money then you will be able to make your debut and have fun. Location becomes important but mostly you need to make people smile and become aware that you are more than just buskers or street performers.

Making your way through

If you feel that you have a talent and want to explore the world then busking can be a way of getting you around. This can be your way of paying through your holiday to different countries. However, in order to stand out amongst all the other street performers you need to develop your won USP (unique selling point). This is the thing that will make sure you shine.

Firstly most street performers do not understand that it is important to have some sort of a presence. What this means is that you need to stand out as an artist. If you are musician then you need to make sure that your vocals and songs are well practised. That is the start. Make sure you can create a portable stage in order for you to be able to show the people that you are there.

Most people will stop if you make a large sign saying song menu. Here you can let people partake in your show. Ask them to select a song that you can sing for a minute or two in order for them to be engaged. There is no need for people to walk away without putting some money into your talent. Most people end up being a bit comatose when it comes to street performers.

You really need to be able to capture your audience and make them feel that they are putting their money into something worthwhile. This way you can conquer all that you are and become a success.
